Shenyang - the first Day of 1st Asian University 3 x 3 Basketball Championship started with a high level competition and full of surprises.
4 Men's teams from Northeastern University (NEU), City University of Hong Kong (CITYU), Mon-Altius Institute of Physical Education (MAI), and St. Dominic Savio College (SDSC) were in Group A. 5 Men's teams from Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (POLYU), Mon-Altius Institute of Physical Education (MAI 2), Science University of Iran (SUI) and Macau Polytechnic Institute (MPI) were in Group B.
8 Women's teams from Tianjin University Of Finance And Economics (TUFE), the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (POLYU ), University Of Macau (UM), National University of Mongolia (NUM), Beijing Normal University (BNU), Ramkhamhaeng (RAM) and Etugen University (ETU) competed by following the single round-robin format.
The open match began right after the ceremony. It was between NEU and POLYU from Hong Kong, China. The game was competitive and both teams fought hard on the courts. After 10-minutes fierce competition, NEU beat POLYU team at 15-9. The competition venue was located in Northeastern University, which received a good crowd that could watch the games. They cheered for all the teams. 18 Games were played on the first day.
