Visit to Tajik Institute of Physical Culture Named by Saimumin Rahimov 08 May 2016 | in Boxing

 


Dushanbe, Tajikistan - on May 8th, AUSF EC members paid a visit to Tajik Institute of Physical Culture Named by Saimumin Rahimov. Saimumin Rahimov (1946-2009) was the first world champion of Tajikistan. The institute was named by him to commemorate the nation's hero and to spread the true spirit of sports.

Walking in the beautiful campus was like walking in a green park. It was Sunday but there were still many students and teachers welcoming the AUSF EC members coming from afar. The EC members first paid a visit to the Gym Room and the office of Institute President Mr. Shodi SAFAROV, who was also the President of the Association of Student Sports of Tajikistan.

In the following, EC members were invited to the Seminar of 1st Asian University Boxing Championship held in the conference hall. Mr. Shodi SAFAROV, on behalf of his institute, welcomed all the EC members to the Institute. He shared with the students and teachers that Tajikistan Team did a really good job in 1st Asian University Boxing Championship, ranking No.1 with 7 gold medals.

Mr. Xinsheng ZHANG, AUSF President, delivered a speech on behalf of AUSF. He congratulated Tajikistan people for hosting such a wonderful event and extended sincere gratitude to the Organizing Committee. He said that he was delighted to see Tajikistan was playing a more and more important role in Central Asia and Tajikistan showed its confidence and devotion to the whole world through this event. He said the 21st century was the era for young people. Through university sports, they exchange ideas and understand each other, and create a better and more peaceful world. In the end, he invited all the audience to 2017 Winter Universiade in Almaty, Kazakhstan and 2017 Summer Universiade in Chinese Taipei.

After this trip, the EC member left Dushanbe and went back home, with unforgettable memories. They expressed that they expected to revisit Tajikistan in the near future and hope the university sports in Tajikistan would have a bright future.
