3rd Asian University Football Championship: Warm up 30 Aug 2016 | in Football

Taebaek, Korea - The 3rd Asian University Football Championship is going to kick off in Taebaek, Korea. It is the first football championship co-organized by AUSF and AUFF (Asian University Football Championship) and the 3rd edition since the 2nd edition was held 7 years ago. On 30th August, 2016, just one day before the Opening Ceremony, AUSF Treasurer Seetow Cheng Fave who is the representative of AUSF Executive Committee for this event and is also the co-chair of AUSF Football Committee, AUSF General Coordinator Laura Yan, AUFF Executive Member Park Tae Seop who is the co-chair of AUSF Football Committee, AUFF Manager Lee Yeon Kyu and other staffs from the OC had an internal meeting, checking every detail of the scheduled Head of Delegation (HoD) Meeting and Opening Ceremony on 31st Aug. 2016.

Although the weather is cool in the mountain city of Taebaek, 12 teams from China, Hong Kong China, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Oman, Chinese Taipei and Korea will fight fiercely from September 1st to 7th and each of them represents the highest university level of its country or region. By the night of 30th Aug. 9 teams have received the eligibility checking and been issued with the Accreditation cards. The rest teams will receive the accreditation tomorrow.

Korea Broadcast Station (KBS) will live broadcast the Semi-Final and Final. According to the competition rules, the 12 teams will be divided into 4 groups and the top of each group will enter into the Semi-Final. In the hope to provide the teams with more chances to compete with other teams, all the teams will fight for their position. The Hod Meeting will be held from 11:00 to 12:00 on 31st Aug, in which draw lots will be conducted. The Opening Ceremony will be staged on the evening of tomorrow together with a welcome banquet.
