3rd Asian University Football Championship: Final Day 08 Sep 2016 | in Football

Taebaek, Korea - Sep. 7th was the last day of the Championship. In the morning, representatives from AUSF, AUFF and the Organizing Committee held an internal meeting, reviewing several aspects such as accommodation, catering, transportation, technical issues, promotion, communication and protocol, etc., in the hope to host a high-quality edition of this event next year. In the following, a meeting with all the heads was convened as well, for sharing the feelings of all the teams. The interaction made AUSF and AUFF know more about the expectation of the participating teams.

Awarding Ceremony

The Awarding Ceremony started right after the Final Match. AUFF President Byon Seok Hwa granted the "Plaque of Appreciation" to the Mayor of Taebaek city Kim Yeon-sik, to the President of Taebaek City Council Shim Yong Bo and to KUFF (Korean University Football Federation) General Director Lee Jun Jae, for their support and contribution to this Championship. In the following, the individual awards were presented to Matsuda Tenma from Japan B team as the Most Valuable Player, to Ueda Asato from Japan A team as the Best Goal Keeper and to Oman player Khalid Al-Hamdani as the Excellent Player respectively.The 3rd Asian University Football Championship ended with Oman wining the Bronze Medal, Iran Silver Medal and Japan B Gold Medal. Besides that, all the participants were presented a Participating Certificate, which would be a life-long memory for all the participants.

Closing Ceremony

With the march-in of 12 participating teams from China, Hong Kong China, Iran, Japan, Malaysia, Myanmar, Oman, Chinese Taipei and Korea, the Closing Ceremony of 3rd Asian University Football Championship started. In his closing speech, AUFF President Byon Seok Hwa thanked all the teams again and congratulated them on their wonderful performances.

After that, Mr. Seetow Cheng Fave delivered a speech on behalf of AUSF. He highly appreciated the dedication and commitment of all the parties, including AUFF, Taebaek city, the volunteers and all the participating teams, for making this wonderful event true after 7-year gap since the 2nd edition held in Wuhan, China. He mentioned that with the cooperation of AUFF, teams from West Asia, Northeast Asia and South Asia got an opportunity to get together on the platform of football championship. The common goal of AUSF and AUFF was to provide Asian youth a platform to compete with each other and learn from each other. Therefore, he expected all the participants to join in next AUFC in 2017.

With the lowering of AUSF flag in the anthem, the 3rd Asian University Football Championship concluded. See you all next year and expect more teams from the other parts of Asia to join in.
