Xi’An- As the celebration of International Day of University Sport (IDUS) and significant outcome of China-France High-Level People-to-People ExchangeMechanism, the China-France University Sports Week, co-organized by FUSC and FFSU, kicked offinXi’An city, China.
Being the weeklong event, its opening ceremony was launched on September 26th, attended by Mr. Yang Liguo, FUSC SG &FISU VP, Mr. Vincent Rognon, FFSU SG, Mr. Xue Yanqing, FUSC VP&FISU CMC Member, Mr. Francois Capel, Deputy HOD of FFSU, together with more than 2000 senior officials, faculty staff and students locally.
On behalf of FFSU and French team, Mr. Vincent Rognon expressed heartfelt honor for involvement of this event and sincere thanks to FUSC as well as local authority for their great hospitality, then conveyed high expectations for further cooperation in depth and width. Later on, the Congratulatory Letter from Ministry of Education in China was announced, whichunderscored the indispensable role of student sports exchanges in promoting bilateral relations of two countries and sent hopes to all students to build the friendship bridge for China-Francepeople-to-people exchanges under the platform of China-France University Sports Week. After Mr. Yang Liguodeclared the opening of the event, teams from both sides soaked into the games during the day and the following 2 days with trophies being awarded as souvenirs.
Besides the competition, it is worth mentioning that the French team has spent the fantastic cultural journey in the city with sort of highlights. For instance, upon visiting Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine, they experienced the globally noted Chinesetherapyof Tuina and fire cupping, learnt Chinese calligraphy; traditional waist drum performance, ChineseKongfu and classic Tang-dynasty dances dazzled the team members; the farewell gala with both Chinese and French overseas students; while what impressed them most is the visit of the primary school MaTengkong, featured by sports variety, in which French girls were attracted by the monocycle performance and Polo sport, and acquired the enjoyment through interaction with local kids.
