ALMATY - Air Astana, the national carrier of Kazakhstan signed a cooperation agreement with the Almaty 2017 Winter Universiade Organizing Directorate. The JSC Air Astana President, Peter Foster and Winter Universiade Director, Nail Nurov signed an agreement according to which the airline becomes a sponsor of the games and receives the status of general partner of the 2017 Winter Universiade.

In accordance with the agreement, Air Astana will provide significant discounts for regional and international flights for the athletes and officials of the Organizing Directorate, will ensure delivery of the torch relay to Almaty from the capital and 15 regions of the country and will provide their own channels of communication for further promotion of the event free of charge.

The Winter Universiade Organizing Directorate also signed a cooperation treaty with the company ‘Technodom’. In the framework of this agreement, Technodom will provide more than 500 units of technical equipment for such functional places as the Main Operations Centre, press centres, accreditation centre and other service centres involved in the organization of the Universiade. Afterwards, the technical equipment will be donated to the sport schools of Almaty.

The signing ceremony was comprised of President of Technodom Renat Ismailov and the Head of the Winter Universiade Organizing Directorate Nail Nurov.
