Seoul, Korea - on 9th January, Asian University Football Federation (AUFF) convened its first Executive Committee meet in 2017. As the founding members, representatives from China, Japan, Chinese Taipei and Korea attended the meeting. Mr. Seetow Cheng Fave, AUSF Treasurer as the Chair of AUSF Football Committee, was present as well.

The meeting was mainly focused on the competition rules and the 4th Asian University Football Championship to be held in Sep. 2017 in Korea. The meeting started with the clip review on jobs done in 2016, including the EC meeting, annual conference and 3rd Asian University Football Championship. The successful organization of 3rd Asian University Football Championship and positive evaluation of the participating teams increased the confidence of AUFF and OC on hosting the 4th edition. The 4th edition was proposed to be held in the second half of September 2017. 12 teams at maximum will be invited. 

In 2015, an MOU was signed between AUSF and AUFF, in the hope to promote the development of football in university level in Asia. According to the MOU, the Asian University Football Championship will be held in consecutive 3 years from 2016 - 2018.
