AUSF President Present at the 3rd FASU Cross Country Championship and FASU General Assembly 2017 18 Mar 2017 | in

Kigali,Rwanda- the 3rd FASU Cross Country Championship, the FASU General Assembly 2017 and FISU- FASU Strategic Dialogue were held from Mar. 18-19. It was the first try out for FASU to host multiple events at such a short period of time. FISU, EUSA and AUSF representatives were invited, including FISU President Mr. Oleg Matytsin, First Vice President Mr. Leonz Eder, Vice Presidents Mr. Marian Dymalski and Mr. Leopold Senghor, Assessor Mr. Chen Tai-cheng, EUSA President Mr. Adam Roczek and AUSF President Mr. Xue Yanqing.

On the sunny morning of March 18th, the 3rd FASU Cross Country Championship kicked off in Kigali golf course. More than 20 girls and 40 boys from 5 countries ran at their best for the champion. Finally, Kenya and South Africa won the gold medal in the women and men category respectively. A 100-meter-run was arranged for the officials as well, people held hands and crossed the finishing line together, which was the African way to show unity and harmony.

FASU General Assembly officially started on the afternoon. The meeting was presided by FASU Secretary General Ms. Penninah Kabenge. 20 out of 26 FASU members were presented to determine the most important issues inside FASU. FISU,EUSA and AUSF guests were all invited to attend the meeting. In the opening remarks, FASU President Mr. Malumbete Ralethe welcomed all the guests and delegates. He then gave special thanks to AUSF for continuously rendering FASU moral and in-kind support and having been consistently present at FASU activities, which he viewed as a great sign of brotherhood. On behalf of FASU, he sent a souvenir to AUSF President Mr. Xue Yanqing as for the sincerest gratitude. Mr. Xue thanked for FASU’s hospitality and congratulated on the successful championship. He affirmed that AUSF would continue to support FASU and look forward to working with FASU in the future. AUSF presented crystal plaque portraying a flying bird to FASU, representing the best wishes that FASU would be like a strong bird who spreads the wings heads for a brighter future.

 

The General assembly then went on by following the Agenda. The reports from the Secretary General and Treasurer, the budgets and events proposals for 2017-2018 were approved unanimously.

 

Before the General Assembly, AUSF 2016 Yearly Magazines were distributed to all the guests and delegates, and received positive feedbacks. The Lesotho delegate read the articles carefully, and highly praised AUSF’s endeavor in promoting university sports in Asia. She hoped that one day FASU would also publish a yearly magazine and spread to the whole world of their achievements.

 

The FISU- FASU Strategic Dialogue would be held in University Conventional Village on March 19, and AUSF President was invited to give a presentation to share good practices.
