Farewell Ceremony of Mongolian Delegation to Taipei Universaide 14 Aug 2017 | in NUSF,Sub-Regional

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia - On 11 August, Mongolian Student Sports Federation (MSSF) organized a farewell ceremony for the Mongolian delegation participating in 2017 Summer Universiade. The ceremony took place in the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports in Ulaanbaatar city. Mr. Chuluunbaatar G., Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports; Mr. Gan-Erdene, Active State Secretary from Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports; Mr. Kheruuga T., Frist Vice President of MSSF; Mr. Jargalsaikhan D., AUSF Vice president, FISU CIC Vice Chair and MSSF Secretary General; Mr. B. Jigjid, Secretary General of the Mongolian Student Union attended the ceremony.

All 76 Mongolian delegation members, including 51 athletes and 25 officials, presented in the ceremony. The student athletes would participate in 9 sports, namely athletics, swimming, judo, table tennis, weightlifting, billiard, fencing, golf and taekwondo. And Mongolian medal contenders were most likely come from the following sports: judo, taekwondo, athletics and weightlifting.

Furthermore, As HOD, Mr. D. Jargalsaikhan explained on the general information about the Taipei Universiade and how MSSF would plan to expand the existing support network for student-athletes. Next, Mrs. Erdenetuya Ch., the assistant HOD, illustrated on the athletes’ village, the competition venues and the training facilities.

During the ceremony, Mr. Tumenbayar M., Gold medalist of the 2017 Asian Taekwondo Championship and Ms. Anuuji, Silver medalist of the 2017 Asian Junior Weightlifting Championship took the oath on behalf of all Mongolian athletes. Then the students from Culture University presented a fantastic performance to show their support to the Mongolian Team!

“We selected 51 athletes from 18 universities and colleges. I hope that the Mongolian student athletes could be the most competitive ones.” Mr. Chuluunbaatar G., Minister of Education, Culture, Science and Sports said. Then he handed over the Mongolian national flag to Mr. Sugarjargal B., who was the 2013 Kazan Universiade judo champion, and would serve as the flagbearer for the Mongolian delegation.

The Mongolian team would bring 3 international referees and judges to the Universiade, i.e. D. Enkhtuvshin (Judo), B. Odgerel (Weightlifting) and M. Munkhbileg (Table Tennis). Besides, one Mongolian speaker would attend the FISU Conference and present an abstract.

Mongolian national MNB TV station would translate and broadcast the 2017 Universiade programs lively.

The first group of Mongolian athletes would travel to Taipei on 14 August.
