2017 Asian-Pacific University Futsal & Cheerleading Championship: Press Conference 14 Sep 2017 | in Futsal,Cheerleading

Lingwu, China- 2017 Asian-Pacific University Futsal & Cheerleading Championship will be held from Sep. 18 to 25 in Lingwu, China. As the first joint program between AUSF and FISU Oceania, the Championship drew lots of attention from media in national, provincial and city level, like Xinhua News Agency, People's Daily, Ningxia TV Station, Ningxia Daily, Ningxia Education TV and other local media. 9 Fustal teams from Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, New Caledonia, Oman, Chinese Taipei and China will compete in of Lingwu Sports Venue, as well as 4 cheerleading teams from Mongolia, Chinese Taipei and China.

The Press Conference was organized at 10am on Sep. 13th. Liu Yongcai, Associate Counsel of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Sports Bureau, Ma Jianlin, Director of Physical, Health and Arts Education Section of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region Education Department, Meng Yanjun, Deputy Mayor of Lingwu Municipal Government, Ma Yuanfu, Director of Lingwu Municipal Education and Sports Bureau, Shi Zantai, Deputy Director of Lingwu Municipal Education and Sports Bureau and Laura Yan, General Coordinator of AUSF attended the conference.

At 10 am sharp, Ma Yuanfu welcomed the all the guests and media present. Then he showed a 5-minute video, picturing the beautiful city sight of Lingwu as well as its citizen's passion for sports, especially for Fustal. Laura thanked the guests and media first. She pointed out that this championship is not only the first joint program between AUSF and FISU Oceania, but also the first Asian University championship which combines Futsal and cheerleading to make the competition more appealing. In order to promote the two sports and  work and strengthen the communication between coaches and athletes, a workshop will be held on Sep. 23rd. It is a innovative act perfectly tight sports with education project. She said this tournament must be a win-win-win for the AUSF, the host city and the participating teams.

          

Meng Yanjun thanked AUSF, as well as Federation of University Sports of China for entrusting the championship to Lingwu, which is an ancient city but with great sports competition experience in Fustal and cheerleading. It is also a valuable opportunity to show the world of Lingwu hospitality. Surely, the city will try its best to make the championship a success and leave a wonderful memory to participating delegations.

The participating teams will arrive soon. Lingwu city is ready to welcome them with hospitality and the Organizing Committee is ready to welcome with a wonderful tournament. The Opening Ceremony will be live broadcast at 19: 30 on Sep.18th by local TV stationas well as the opening match. Good luck, all teams!
