Xiamen, China- From Sep. 14-18, the 3rd edition 3x3 FISU World University League Finals (League Finals) was staged in Huaqiao University, the international home of university 3x3 basketball.
In the 4 days, the university campus turned into a stage for the best university basketball players for the world league titles. 16 men’s and 16 women’s university teams met in Xiamen after qualifying through a series of national and continental tournaments. Finally, Mon-Altus Physical Education Institute (MGL) and Chinese Cultural University (TPE) stood out from Men’s and Women’s categories respectively and grabbed the gold medals with unyielding endeavor. It was also the first time that Asian teams took both champions in the League Finals. What’s more, the 2 teams were also the champions of the 3rd AUC 3x3 Basketball held in Malaysia this April, which was the qualifying tournaments of FISU League Finals. Representing Asian youth, they showed great passion, vitality and strong power to the whole world. Their victories were a great honor shared by all Asian University students!
With 3x3 League showing its ability to cultivate basketball talent as it moves from the grassroots to the professional level, International Basketball Federation (FIBA) would reward the 2017 men’s champion, namely Mon-Altius Physical Education Institute Team, with a ticket to the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Mexico City Masters later this month. In the new platform, they would not only represent their own university, but also the whole Asian university students. Wish Mongolia Team good luck and hope they could come back with honors!
