The joint FISU-NUSF Seminar was one of the outcomes of the MOU. The seminar was themed with Leadership and Project Management. The sessions and workshops will provide the participants with the opportunity to enhance their skills and share ideas with their fellow university sport colleagues.
The welcome banquet started with cultural performances by indigenous Australian, illustrating how the Australian people welcome the guests from afar, how to do the fishing, how to learn from the elders, etc. The indigenous Australian entertained the delegates with their traditional dances and songs and passed their cultures.
In his opening address, Mr. Eder, on behalf of FISU, highly appreciated the hard efforts of AUSF and FISU Oceania to organize such a wonderful Seminar. He said delegates were here to develop the ideas and learn from each other. He expected all the delegates could enjoy their one-week stay and found it unforgettable. He highly praised AUSF and FISU-Oceania as the pacemaker of FISU. Also, he shared the news of the passing away of FISU former President George E. Killian. He invited all the delegates to mourn for his death. He said Mr. Killian is not only a friend, but also a great leader, who loved the sports and loved each individual person involved in sports.
On behalf of AUSF, Mr. Xue acknowledged FISU for its support on this event and FISU-Oceania for the wonderful arrangements. He said AUSF has 2 main goals, one is on brand-name events; the other one is to motivate its members more and more involved in FISU and AUSF activities. He said AUSF attached great importance on this event. As a good sign was that half of the AUSF board members were present, including himself, Senior Vice President Omar Al-Hai, Vice President D. Jargalsaikhan, Vice Secretary General Shen Zhen, Assessor Purna Singh Bohara, Auditors Lou Kit Long and Huang Chai-Ju. He encouraged the delegates to improve their communication and share more ideas.
On behalf of the FISU-Oceania, Mr. Doulton welcomed all the delegates and introduced the delegates in a cheerful way. During the dinner, a few videos of 2019 Winter and Summer Universiades, IDUS celebration, FISU Forum were displayed.
