Dear friends,

We are at the start of Year 2018!

Looking backward to 2017, I am very proud of what we achieved and where we reached. AUSF Year 2017 started with the first Executive Committee meeting in Almaty, where we started the cooperation with FISU Oceania in a practical way by the tryout of hosting join sport and educational event and we set up the sub-committees to take care of each developmental division.

In 2017, 4 Championships were held, namely, 3x3 Basketball, archery, futsal and cheerleading. As the qualifying tournament of World University 3x3 Basketball League, I am so delighted and proud to see the players from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Chinese Taipei on the core of world stage and students from Mon-Altius Physical Education Institute and Chinese Culture University head back to school as the world’s number one university 3x3 teams. As the first joint sport event of AUSF and FISU-Oceania, the Futsal and Cheerleading Championship was proved to be a great success in terms of participation and organization. For the educational events, the workshop during the Championship and FISU-NUSF Seminar were launched and will be a regular part of AUSF calendar in the following, which would benefit more people involved in university sports.

By reviewing our achievements in 2017, I would like to express our sincere gratitudes to our member federations, to all the friends in the field of university sports, to International University Sports Federation, to other Continental University Sports Federations, etc. Without your involvement and support, we could not make these achievements in 2017.

Looking forward to 2018, together with all of you, I am very confident. In the coming new year, we will focus on two main goals, one is to build up the flagship events; the other one is to activate our member federations. Actually, these two goals complement each other. With high-quality events, the member federations will be more active; with the active member federations, our events will be more attractive.
