Met with AFC General Secretary Dato' Windsor John 15 Mar 2018 | in Working Meeting

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - on 14th March, AUSF Assessor Ayub Hanafiah and General Coordinator Laura Yan were invited to the AFC (Asian Football Confederation) office and had a meeting with AFC General Secretary Dato' Windsor John and the Head of Futsal and Beach Soccer Mr. Ali Targholizadeh, who served as the Technical Delegate of 2017 Asian-Pacific University Futsal and Cheerleading Championship held in Lingwu, China.

The main purpose of this trip was to seek the cooperation with AFC, especially in terms of its technical supports for Asian University Football Championship (AUSF Football Cup), which will start from 2018 and continue for 4 editions in the following 8 years. The meeting was very productive. As Dato' Windsor expressed, he also expected the cooperation with AUSF in the continental levels. He said he would like to cooperate with AUSF to make football the number one sport throughout the continent in university level.

As a strategy of football development on university level, Asian University Football Championship (AUSF FOOTBALL CUP), together with FISU University World Cup will be held alternatively in odd and even year since 2018 in Jin-Jiang city, Fujian Province, P. R. China. AUSF Football Cup is the qualifying tournament of FISU University World Cup. The top 2 men's teams and top women's team will be automatically qualified.

For 2018 AUSF Football Cup, men's teams from China, Hong Kong China, Iran, Korea, Macau China, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand, Chinese Taipei, U.A.E., and Viet Nam have confirmed their participation and women's teams from China, Mongolia, Singapore, Thailand, and Chinese Taipei confirmed as well. There are still one men's seat and 3 women's seat left.

Cooperating with AFC will guarantee the championship held technically in a high level and in a professional way. We firmly believe that our Asian youth deserve it. Therefore, AUSF board members will strive to work more for all the Asian youth.
