AUSF President attended EUSA General Assembly 16 Apr 2018 | in Working Meeting

Madrid, Spain - The General Assembly (GA) of European University Sports Association (EUSA) was successfully held in Madrid, Spain on 13 April. 36 member federations from Europe actively participated.

Invited by EUSA president Adam Roczek, AUSF president XUE Yanqing and FISU president Oleg Matytsin attended GA. FISU 1st Vice President Leonz Eder, 1st Assessor Verena Burk, Assessors Kemal Tamel, CHEN Taicheng and AUSF Vice Secretary General SHEN Zhen, Assessor Purna Boharal. President of European Olympic Committee, President of European Taekwondo Federation, Policy officer of European Commission and many other distinguished guests were present as well.

During the opening session, Dr. XUE addresses to all the members. He said AUSF and EUSA, as two of the most dynamic continental federations, always encourage and promote the mutual cooperation with each other. Since the singing of MOU, the tie between AUSF and EUSA was strengthened not only in continental level but also in national level. Both AUSF and EUSA are very delighted and proud to see the interaction between members.

For example, China launched and continues a series of exchange program with France, Russia, UK, Germany and 16 Central-Eastern European Countries, targeting the administrators, coaches and students. The friendly matches and cultural programs are highly praised and valued by the participants at home and abroad. The feedback showed that the cooperation was on the right track. Besides that, the China-Russia, China-Central and East European Countries University Winter Sports Carnival will be held in Harbin of China this coming December, which could also serve as a pre-match for Winter Universiade.

After President, Secretary General and Treasurer’s reports, etc., General Assembly deeply discussed the EUSA strategy for development and approved it. At last, EUSA President Adam Roczek declared that 2022 European University Games went to Lodz of Poland, and 2024 European University Games went to Miskolc and Debrecen of Hungary. At the end of the meeting, EUSA awarded Honorary Membership to FISU 1st VP Leonz Eder and former EUSA Auditor Olaf from Germany.

In the evening, EUSA Gala was hosted in a beautiful Spanish campus, "Best University", "Most Active NUSF", "Most Successful NUSF" and many other Awards  went to EUSA members.

EUSA took a leading role on promoting the development of university sports in Europe. As the continental confederations, AUSF and EUSA will continually do the best to enhance the university sports movement under FISU umbrella.
