2018 AUSF Football Cup China Qualifying Tournament Kicked off in Jinjiang City 21 Aug 2018 | in Football

Jinjiang,China- On 17th August, 12 elite teams representing 11 universities (8 men’s teams and 4 women’s teams) gathered in Jinjiang Sports Center for the grand Opening Ceremony of 2018 AUSF Football Cup China Qualifying Tournament. The Champion of men’s tournament and top 2 teams of women’s tournament will be automatically qualified for 2018 AUSF Football Cup to be held from 29 October to 11 November 2018. The top 2 Asian teams of men’s tournament and Champion of women’s tournament will be qualified for 2019 FISU World University Cup – Football to be held in Jinjiang as well.

     

The Opening Ceremony featuring vigorous cheerleading performance and other local cultural activities ignited enthusiasm of the local residents as well as nationwide students for participating in university football games.

The opening match was kicked off between Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) men’s team and Renmin University of China (RUC). BIT is a traditional strong team, ever won the Champion of Level I of China University Football Association (CUFA) for 9 times. In China, CUFA includes 3 levels. Level I is for the elite teams of universities; Level II is for normal students from universities who just played football for fun; Level III is for students from tertiary colleges. The match ended by 4-2, with BIT taking the lead. The Qualifying Tournament will last 8 days. The finals will be staged on 24th August.
