Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – AUSF Executive Committee Meeting was held on 18th Oct. in Eastin Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. AUSF President XUE Yanqing, warmly welcomed everyone and highly appreciated the strong support and great organization of Malaysian University Sports Council(MASUM) for the events, as well as for MASUM's promotion of AUSF in Southeast Asia.
As Chairman of MASUM, YBhg. Prof.DatoDr. Hassan Basri Awang Mat Dahan Mon made a welcome speech on behalf of the Ministry of Education Malaysia and MASUM. He appreciated AUSF trust on MASUM and hoped the EC members will enjoy their stay in multicultural Malaysia.
FISU 1st Vice President Leonz Eder, FISU Oceania President Martin Doulton, FISU Oceania Secretariat staff Donna Spethman, Board Chair Nicola Clayden and David Schmude from NUSF New Zealand also was invited to the meeting. As was approved in the agenda, a joint progress report for the MoU Between AUSF and FISU-Oceania 2017-2018 was made by Donna Spethmen from FISU-Oceania secretariat and AUSF Vice Secretary General Shen Zhen. As FISU-NUSF Seminar in Australia and 2017 Asian-Pacific University Futsal & Cheerleading Championship proved to be success and the joint-events were great opportunities for diversity cultural to communicate and exchange in university sports level. The meeting decided to continue the cooperation and sign the 2019-2020 MOU with FISU Oceania on General Assembly on 20th October.
The meeting then received the Secretary General report, treasure report and reports from Education Committee, University Sports and Technical Committee and Public Relations Committee.
Thanks to MASUM's great promotion of AUSF in Southeast Asia region, 3 membership application forms, Timor Leste, Brunei and Myanmar was presented on the meeting. It was decided to approve their membership in the coming General Assembly.
As more members were joining AUSF and more events were held each year. The Legal Committee was set up to ensure the future development of the federation. Mr. Feng Jinwen was nominated as the Chair.
The Next EC meeting will be held in Macau, China during the AUC Karate in April 2019.
