AUSF Marks Its 10th General Assembly with Extraordinary Achievements 20 Oct 2018 | in General Assembly

Kuala Lumpur Malaysia- on 20th October, Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF )welcomed its 10th General Assemblyin Kuala Lumpur, with 25 out of 38 members attended the historic meeting. Distinguished guests from FISU, EUSA, and FISU Oceania were  present to witness the grand occasion.During the meeting, reports delivered by the AUSF President, the Secretary General, the Treasurer and chairs of five sub-committees were all well received.

The meeting was opened with the report of commission for checking of mandates and the roll call of member federations. Malaysia University Sports Council (MASUM) Chairman, Hassan Basri Mat Dahan and other sports dignitaries including FISU 1st Vice President Leonz Eder, FISU Oceania President Martin Doulton, EUSA President Adam Roczet and AUSF Honorary President Chong Tong Gu, all made congratulatory addresses successively on the remarkable achievements AUSF made over the past years.

AUSF President Xue Yanqing highlighted specifically in the report the achievements made in the past two years including successful attribution of championship events across the region; regular education projects like strategic dialogue and joint seminar with FISU Oceania; establishment of five sub-regional committees within the continent to ensure a more active member engagement as well as the fruitful project work completed by the five AUSF sub committees.

It is also remarkable that five new achievements was made on this meeting, which would turn the meeting to be one of the milestones in the history of AUSF development.

  

Members receiving membership certificate 

First, the new legal committee was established and Mr. Feng Jinwen was officially approved as chair of Legal Committee, which is expected to enhance the regulation of future AUSF projects development.

Secondly, four new members, including Timor-Leste, Brunei, Laos and Myanmar have been officially admitted as new members of AUSF, expanding the number of AUSF member federations to the number of 42.

Thirdly, with concerted efforts made by AUSF family, AUSF has set up an official partnership with Kelme China. Co. Ltd.,, a brand-name sports company, which will sponsor AUSF Championships with sports equipment.

It was also announced that China will offer 20 scholarships enabling student-athletes from AUSF member federations to win full scholarships studying in Chinese Universities.

At last, AUSF renewed strategic partnership with FISU-Oceania, through which both parties looked forward to working together on more joint-projects during the next MoU period.
