KELME 2018 AUSF Football Cup is officially opened! 01 Nov 2018 | in Football

Jinjiang, China- 17:30 on Oct. 31, the official welcome banquet was held to host AUSF and FISU delegates, Heads of Delegations in JunYue Banquet Hall the Winter Ambassador Hotel. Mr. HUANG Shaowei, the Vice Secretary General the Organizing Committee and Vice Mayor of Jinjiang City warmly welcomed everyone at the Banquet. FISU Vice President Marian DYMALSKI made a speech to appreciate the OC's hospitality and he is confident that next year the FISU University World Cup - Football Finals will also be a success.

Opening Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony of KELME 2018 AUSF Football Cup started in Jinjiang Sports Center Stadium at 19:30 sharp with the attendance of representatives from FISU, AUSF, local authorities and all the participating teams.

After all teams marching into the stadium, OC Chairman LIU Wenru, who is also the Invited Vice President of Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC), and Secretary of CPC Jinjiang Municipal Committee made a speech to welcome guests and participants. He briefly introduced the sports city of Jinjiang and pictured the vision for the 4 consecutive editions of AUSF Football Cup and the 4 consecutive editions of FISU University World Cup - Football Finals as well. He hoped that the Cup will leave an unforgettable memory for the teams. Mr. LI Yuyi, Vice President of China Football Association made a speech and promised that CFA will provide consistent support to AUSF Football Cup and wished the first edition of AUSF Football Cup a success.

AUSF President XUE Yanqing declared the opening of KELME 2018 AUSF Football Cup. Then representatives from athletes and referees took oath in front of all the audience and promised to take part in the Championship in the true spirit of sportsmanship.

     

With the AUSF anthem solemnly played in the Stadium, the event officially began and the audience enjoyed a feast of traditional Chinese dancing and cheerleading performance.

Open Match

The Open Match between Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) from China and University of Burdwan (BU) from India kicked off right after the opening ceremony. BIT defeated BU 4:0 in 90 high-octane minutes. Chen Zixuan scored the first goal for BIT. The following two goals through Li Sichen put BIT in command and the result in little doubt. Wang Minjie sealed the victory for the team. Though BU went in search of goals in the closing minutes, they failed to reduce the deficit.
