KELME 2018 AUSF Football Cup: 8th Competition Day 07 Nov 2018 | in Football

Jinjiang,China- Bangkok Thonburi University (BTU) from Thialand defeated Al Musanna College of Technology (ACT) from Oman on the evening of Nov 6th to qualify for the semi-final. ACT scored their first goal within 30 seconds at the start of the first halfACT then added their second goal in the 11th minutes. In response, BTU scored their first goal in the 42nd minute. In the second half, BTU fought back further and got the second goal in 61st minute and from then on, they never gave any chance again to ACT. The 2 teams were tied at 2:2 fter 90 minutes and the match went to a penalty shoot-out. Both teams kicked in the first 3 balls while ATC hit the goalpost with their 4th shot.BTU converted all their 5 shots, and the matched finished 2:2 (3:5) in favour of BTU.

In the other match, host team Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) from China booked their place in the semi-final after beating Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) from Malaysia with a score of 1:0. Both teams were the champions of their national universities football league this year. In a keenly-contested encounter at the Jinjiang Sports Center, both sides created their fair share of chances but UiTM was unable to convert any chances to goals in the 90 minutes.

     

After 4 evenings of quarter-final matches, 4 teams from Hong Kong China, Korea, Thailand and host China won their places in the men’s semi-finals.
