Kinmen, Chinese Taipei- It’s the very first time for Kinmen to host an international tournament! After two times held in China and two times in Malaysia, the 5th Asian University 3x3 Basketball Championship come to Kinmen, gathering 19 teams competing for the tickets of 2019 FISU University World Cup 3x3.
The top 2 teams of AUC 3x3 will be automatically qualified to FISU 3X3 World University League Final in this November in Xiamen, China. The world champion of 2017, Mon-Altius Physical Education Institute(M) from Mongolia and Chinese Culture University (W) from Chinese Taipei are both here this time.
A press conference was held on May 7th with attendance of AUSF Delegate LOU Kit Long, OC representative Chin-ting LAI, the Magistrate of Kinmen County YANG Cheng-wu, the Vice President of CTUSF LIN Hua-wei, Vice President of AUSF and Secretary General of CTUSF TSENG Ching-yu.
“Through the competition, we hope it can promote the cultural exchanges, and the participants can experience the specific culture of Kinmen in this time. Have a good performance!” said by the Magistrate of Kinmen County YANG Cheng-wu. On behalf of AUSF, LOU Kit-long appreciated the joint-efforts of CTUSF, Kinmen and FIBA, to have such a high-profile event, and wished the event ended successfully.
HoD Meeting was held immediately after the press conference. Details on medical and technical issues were announced, including team groupings, competition format, and schedule, etc. Technical Delegate Anthony GUNAWAN introduced the rules of the game and confirmed all the uniform numbers and colors.
10 women's and 9 men's teams from China, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Mongolia, Malaysia, Iran, Macau China, , Korea, and Chinese Taipei are set out in 2 groups of five teams and will play out over from 8 to 11 May.
