Here Comes the 2nd AUC Cheerleading in Seoul 24 Aug 2019 | in Cheerleading

       

Seoul, Republic of Korea- The 2nd Asian University Cheerleading Championship is staged  officially from 24th to 25th August at the Seoul Plaza. It's the first time for Korea to host AUC Cheerleading, and to use an electronic scoring system in cheerleading events at the same time.

       

To improve the speed and convenience of computing the results, OC announced the introduction of this new feature during the Head of Delegation (HoD) Meeting this morning. "We will do our best to support this competition; you are most welcome to give us feedback," said Jenny LEE, the Chair of Judge Committee and Manager James KIM.

       

HoDs of China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mongolia, Chinese Taipei, and Singapore expressed their gratitude to AUSF representatives Kairat Zakiryanov, Secretariat, and OC for creating the platform for their students to participate in this exciting event.

     

 

Hilarious opening at dusk

The Opening Ceremony was witnessed by over 500 people at Seoul Plaza. After the President of Korea Cheerleading Association, Sun-Hwa LEE declared the AUCC open, local singer Seong-Ri KIM performed three beautiful songs and drew screams and active interaction from young spectators, which brought the ceremony to its climax.

       

In the next two days, a total of 192 participants from 8 countries and regions will compete for medals in seven divisions (Team Cheer including Large Coed Premier, Large Coed Elite, All-Female Elite; Performance Cheer including divisions of Pom Doubles, Hip-hop Doubles, Team Pom, and Team Hip-hop). On 25th August noon, the event will be broadcast live on KBS 1 to reach a wider audience.
