Hadi Bashirian Elected as New President of National University Sports Federation of Islamic Republic of IRAN 13 Oct 2020 | in NUSF

Hadi Bashirian, faculty member of ministry of science, research and technology of Iran and former Secretary General of Iran NUSF, was elected as president for the next four years.

The electoral general assembly was held on September 26, 2020 with the attendance of minister of science, research and technology ministry, president of national organization of student affairs, Deputy of ministry of Sport and Youth, vice president of National Olympic Committee, head of provincial boards and other officials. Hadi Bashirian was elected as the president with 26 votes out of 49 votes.

The other candidates were Mohammad Porkiani, Davoud Houmanian, Jamshid Hemmati, Javad Shahlaei and Abdolhamid Nassirzadeh. Shahlaei and Nassirzadeh withdrew before the start of election.

National University Sport Federation of Iran established in 2005 and this is the third election assembly for the presidency of this federation. Previously, Dr. Mehrzad Hamidi and Dr. Mohammad Reza Dehkhoda were the presidents of this federation.
