Jinjiang, China - On 15 December, a working group of Federation of University Sports of China, led by Dr. XUE Yanqing, Vice president of the Federation of University Sports of China and President of Asian University Sports Federation went to Jinjiang to hold a dedicated meeting with local organizing committee representatives, headed by Mr. CHEN Chuanfang, Vice Mayor of the Jinjiang City, to discuss on the preparation of second edition of the AUSF Football Cup.

This is the first high-level meeting between the two parties since the Jinjiang city council finished its leadership restructuring. At the beginning of the meeting, FUSC conveyed the updated information from FISU to all in attendance, revisited the good experience and the lesson learnt in the first edition. It is followed by the discussion on the event positioning, building a regular structure of the organizing team, formulating a sustainable event promotion plan, and keeping smooth international communication with AUSF and etc..

Mr. CHEN, on behalf of the Jinjiang City council greeted the delegation of FUSC to Jinjiang and appreciated the consistent assistance provided by FUSC in the staging of the series of football events held in Jinjiang. He also underlined the important role AUSF Football Cup played in promoting the local sports industry as well as the internationalization of the Jinjiang City. On half of Jinjiang Organizing Committee, he reiterated the commitments to hosting event in line with the AUSF guidelines, with an aim to build top university event and promote football development at national and world level.

Looking forward to the second edition, Dr. Xue concluded that together with Jinjiang Organizing Committee, FUSC will keep communication with AUSF and expected both parties join hands to step up the efforts to make the preparation well on track following the new timelines.
