AUSF Executive Committee had its second online meeting 17 Mar 2022 | in Executive Committee Meeting

On 16 March, AUSF Executive Committee met online again via ZOOM to assess the possibility of 2022 AUSF sports events, and update on the progress of the AUSF 30th Anniversary celebration activities.

President XUE addressed the meeting with particular regards on the safety and health of all the members at the beginning, when Omicron variants spread rapidly in multiple countries or regions of the whole Asia and world.

The Secretary General, Kenny CHOW highlighted the efforts made to communicate with different organizing committees regarding the preparation of AUSF events, and appreciated progress made by the Media committee in following up with the visual design.

Considering the uncertainties brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the AUSF events 2022 have to be rescheduled, the 2nd AUSF Football Cup was approved to be postponed to May 2023. Regarding 3x3 Basketball, Archery and Men’s Basketball championships, for the safety of all the people involved, the Organizing Committee was required to submit a more comprehensive Covid-19 prevention plan, related to arrival/departure, quarantine and costs, etc., which will facilitate the final decision before the end of March 2022 by the Executive Committee.

It was quite encouraging that the preparation for the 30th anniversary of AUSF had been going well underway, including the Visual design of AUSF 30 years of anniversary, the History Book of Asian University Sports Movement, etc. Besides that, the Asian University Chess Championship online will continue in December 2022, which started from 2020 with the joint efforts of Asian Chess Federation.
