AUSF EC members met to prepare for the coming General Assembly 17 Nov 2022 | in Executive Committee Meeting

On 17 November, AUSF Executive Committee members met for the 5th time when the year 2022 is coming to the end. It focused on making further plans based on the updates on the Session One of 12th General Assembly of AUSF, as well as hearing progress reports regarding and Asia-Oceania University Chess Championship 2022 and the 30th Anniversary of AUSF.

The meeting was opened with President XUE’s greetings and congratulation on Chungcheong Megacity, Republic of Korea winning the hosting right of the 2027 World University Games Summer at the recent FISU Executive Committee meeting.

In his working report, the Secretary General, Kenny CHOW briefed the EC on the functioning of the AUSF in the past two months, highlighting the Qatar’s membership application, and concerted efforts made by the EC members and the Secretariat in the successful delivery of AUSF Run Challenge and other individual sports and educational activities to mark the 7th International Day of University Sport as well as 30th anniversary of AUSF.

Preparation for the 12th General Assembly was then further discussed in detail in terms of quorum of the meeting, VIP'S attendance, proposals for discussion and program of the session two of the 12th General Assembly. It is finally decided that the face-to-face elective session two will be held on 6-12 May in Abu Dhabi U.A.E., together with FISU-AUSF Strategic Dialogue and Gala. The Agenda of the session one of the 12th General Assembly was finalized, and would be sent to all member federation soon after the meeting.

It also went through progress reports of working groups in following up with 30th anniversary of AUSF, especially the results IDUS celebration, proofreading of the book titled on 30 Years of the Asian University Sport Movement as well as the AUSF events promotion etc.

After hearing the progress report of the Asian-Oceania University Chess Championship, President XUE underlined, “in the coming days, more efforts will be diverted to this event to finalize the ceremonies and General Technical Meeting, in close cooperation with the host of I.R Iran National University Sports Federation and Asian Chess Federation”.
