Chengdu, China - On 30th July, 2023 in Chengdu, China, the newly elected AUSF Executive Committee held its second meeting to discuss the procedure for the appointment of Regional Representatives, set-up of Sub-Committees and other working groups, and cooperation with partners on the sideline of the Chengdu World University Games Summer.

Dr. LIU Lixin, President of AUSF, opened the meeting with a welcome speech. He thanked the EC members for bringing their respective delegations to Chengdu and praised the frequent email communications among EC members on some important topics regarding the future development of AUSF.

The procedure for the nomination of the AUSF Regional Representatives was confirmed in order to attract more helping hands from the five sub-regions to join the Executive Committee.

The EC approved the establishment of seven (7) Sub-Committees. These include the Education and Research Committee, the University Sports and Technical Committee, the Planning and Development Committee, the Branding and Marketing Committee, the Legal Committee, the Media and Communication Committee, and finally the Medical Committee. The cooperation with FISU-Oceania and ASEAN University Sports Council was also discussed during the meeting, with the hope of further enhancing the strategic partnerships with the two organizations.

“This is a very fruitful meeting,” Dr. LIU concluded, “I hope all the concerned members and staff will follow up with the decisions carefully after the meeting and join hands to promote the Asian University Sports movement. I wish our Asian delegations great success during the Chengdu Games”, he added.
