Yanbian, China - After three days of fierce competition at the group stage, Thammasat University (THA) and Yanbian University(CHN) from Group A, Kyungil University (KOR) and Beihang University(CHN) from Group B have advanced to the semi-finals of the Men’s Tournament. The semi-final matches among these four teams will be staged on 22nd September.
In the Women’s Tournament, the defending Champion College of Asian Scholars (THA) showed their good state of competition by dominating Beijing Normal University (CHN) and Kiit University(IND) respectively in the first two matches. They will face the challenge from Shanghai University of Sport(CHN), the team with 1 win and 1 draw, on 22nd September to determine the top position of the Group.
While on the field they compete fiercely, off the field they were engaged in friendly interaction. On 21st September, the OC organised a series of cultural exchange activities to promote cultural exchanges among all the participants.
The participating teams and technical officials visited the Space Agricultural Technology Experience Hall and the Intelligent Greenhouse in the Land Best Holiday Sports Scenic Area,as well as the Yanbian University History Museum and Library.
Participants witnessed the cutting-edge agricultural technologies, learnt to make dumplings, and tried their hands in calligraphy. All these allowed them to experience in person the authentic Chinese culture, facilitating healthy exchange and building friendships among youth of Asia, leaving them with unforgettable memories.
Zahid Mohamed Aiman, goalkeeper of University Of Doha for Science and Technology (QAT), said that Chinese culture is profound and extensive. Through his participation in the various cultural activities, he has gained a deeper understanding of China. Additionally, he has built friendships with Chinese players through football matches, emphasizing the significance of the tournament.
