Yanbian, China – On 24 September, the 2nd AUSF Football Cup concluded successfully. Over the past 8 days, 12 teams from eight countries and regions in Asia demonstrated the unique charm of football and the spirit of youth during the tournament. With their outstanding athletic skills, teamwork and perseverance, they pursued their dreams and built lasting friendships, celebrating the vitality of their generation.
On the afternoon of the 24 September, the women's final was played between Shanghai University of Sport (CHN) and Asian Scholars College (THA), with the two teams drawing 1-1 at the end of regulation. After a penalty shootout, the Shanghai Sport University was crowned the Champion by defeating its opponent with the score of 5:3.
On the other field of play, Kyungil University (KOR) defeated Thammasat University (THA) with 2:0, dominating the Men’s Tournament by winning all the five matches along the way.
Representing Asia, Shanghai University of Sport (CHN) and Kyungil University (KOR) will qualify directly for the 2025 FISU University World Cup Football to be held in 2025 in Dalian, China.
The Awarding and Closing Ceremony was held following the 2 final matches. On behalf of the Organizing Committee, Mr. PIAO Junfeng, OC Vice President, congratulated the winning teams and gave his best regards to all the participants. Following that, Mr. AL DHAHERI Ali Massari, AUSF Assessor and CISCA Chair of the event thanked all the participants involved, highlighted the power of football to make the difference to the Asia and world, and declared the close of the event.
