Seoul, Republic of Korea - Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF) successfully held its first Executive Committee (EC) Meeting of 2025 on 18th-19th April in the two beautiful campuses of Dankook University in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The two-day meeting brought together key stakeholders to discuss strategic plans, partnerships, constitution review and other topics aimed at advancing university sports across Asia.

Dr. LIU Lixin, AUSF President, presented progress report on Strategic Plan for AUSF Future Development, outlining the federation’s vision, mission, and seven strategic focus areas. The plan emphasizes excellence, organizational support, and implementation programs designed to strengthen AUSF’s role in promoting university sports.                            

Mr. SEETOW Cheng Fave, AUSF Secretary General, led discussions on the review of the AUSF Constitution, a critical step to ensure the federation’s governance framework remains modern and effective. Proposed amendments aim to streamline operations, enhance transparency, and align with international best practices. The revisions will be finalized after further consultations with member associations.  

During the meeting, a landmark Sponsorship Agreement with Qiaodan was signed during the ceremony on 19th April, marking a significant step in securing sustainable funding for AUSF initiatives.

The AUSF Branding and Marketing Commission Seminar and Media and Communication Commission Seminar were also held on 18th April. The keynote speakers shared how marketing and broadcasting work in University Sports. Many teachers and students from Dankook University attended the seminar.

On behalf AUSF, President LIU presented plaques of appreciation to Dankook University and the Korean University Sports Board for the organization of this EC meeting and to Realeague and Qiaodan for their sponsorship to AUSF.

On 19th April, AUSF EC members and Secretariat met with President of Dankook University, Dr. CHANG Hosung. President CHANG conveyed his best wishes for a successful EC Meeting and Seminar and expressed keenness to host more AUSF events in the future. AUSF President LIU thanked DKU for the wonderful organization of the events.

Mr. Leonz Eder, FISU President, also made a speech through zoom during the meeting. He lauded AUSF's strategic reforms, athlete-focused initiatives, and branding efforts, highlighting Asia's growing leadership in global university sports development.
